Woman Player Proves Just as Bad as the Men

“rP"HE trouble with most women players,” said Mr. Champion smugly, “is that they lack a certain baldness, a certain willingnéss to follow through on their convictions about a hand — even though it involves considerable risk.” “Another thing women lack,” replied Miss Brash, “is a certain disgusting arrogance.” And, as if to make sure of getting the last word, she immediately opened the bidding with one spade. Mrs. Keen forced to game by jumping to three clubs. Miss Brash then showed her heart suit and her partner showed support for spades,

Using just a few safety matches or a few toothpicks | there are dozens of tricks you can do which will entertain || your friends. You probably have noticed that your friends | who are the mostspopular are those who have a “bag of tricks.” They draw from these whenever a group gets together. Why don’t you start learning a few tricks? Once you have tried a trick on one or two friends, you will re-| member it and can.call on it whenever the occasion arises. If you have other match tricks to add to my collection, send them in and I will pass them on to other Try-Iteers. The above tricks involve -arranging matches into triangles. | In the first take six matches and make four triangles. First, {lay three matches flat on the table and then form three ‘more triangles by standing the-matches in a tripod from the corners of the base triangle. ; The second trick is to make four triangles and two }. squares, as shown, from eight matches.
