apolis’ first traveling branch library next week. The library, known as a “baokmobile,” is a 29-foot-long truck equipped to carry about 2000 books
on display shelves,
The bookmobile was built at a cost of $10,144 to the Board of School Commissioners.
Miss Marian McFadden, director of public libraries, said the new service will take the place of a| number of branch libraries until officials can determine how popu-| lation is growing and build or| rent permanent branches where they are needed. | Bookmobile patrons will be able] to request any book they want, whether it is on the truck or not. This puts at the patron’s disposal] almost one million books, Miss McFadden said.
