Rumor Hints

Reno Divorce

By United Press NEW YORK, Sept. 11 — Billy Rose and Eleanor Holm relaxed in separate corners today after a keenly-awaited courtroom skirmish that turned out to be a 1punch affair. The next round between tne millionaire showman and the curvaceous swimming star will be a hearing in New York Supreme Court Oct. 15 to decide how much alimony Miss Holm will receive under the separation decree she won yesterday. Mr. Rose dropped his suit for divorce after two and a half hours of conferences yesterday in the chambers of Justice James B. M. McNally.. His decision deprived a courtroom of reporters and spectators of what was expected to be the most lurid divorce trial in New York in 25 years. Rumors immediately sprang up that either Mr. Rose. or Miss Holm soon-would establish residence in Nevada or some other state to obtain a divorce under laws less demanding than those of New York. There, adultry is the only possible grounds. The October hearing will determine whether Mr, Rose must continue to pay the $700 a week

dicated he will try to have the figure reduced.
