New ‘Selfocus’ Tube Locks in Clear Picture
Dumont’'s new line is designed for better vision. A new-style tuner eliminates fuzzy backgrounds and picture haze. Pictures are locked in fullrange automatic focus by the revolutionary “Selfocus” tube. The picture surface is made antiglare by the cylindrical shape of safety glass, tilted in the set to reflect the light down and away from the viewer's eyes. Cabinets are designed in pleasing contemporary style in mahogany and blond finishes. The new sets are adapted for UHF, and considerable power has been added for fringe area reception. Dumont presents this year the gigantic Royal Sovereign. With a 30-inch tube, it is the world's largest direct-view television set. It's priced at $1795. It is designed for clubs, lodges, schools and the like. For family use, there is the | Dumont Beverly, with a 21-inch screen. Mahogany or limed oak.) it contains all the 1953 features and sells at $349.95. |
