Rain Gives Gis Rest on Bunker Hill

By United Press SEOUL, Korea, Aug. 14-—-Vic torious American Marines, who hurled back four Chinese Com munist counterattacks and crippled a Red regiment, planted a torn and battle-stained flag dedicated to 8t. Michael the Arch angel on Bynker Hill today. Heavy rain turned the Bunker Hill battlefield to’ mud. But it was a welcome eight to the dirty, tired Leathernecks who for the past three days fought and defeated 2800 veteran Red troops in scorching heat. Cut Reds to Pleces

The Chinese Reds made their third counterattack on the hill five miles east of Panmunjom last night. Allied artillery and sharp-snooting fire from infantrymen's rifles, mortars and machine guns cut the Communist hattalion to pieces. " For more than an hour, the

Marines defending the position from pre-fabricated bunkers. A few Communists reached the crest and briefly engaged the Marines in hand-to-hand combat.
