South Sea Islands?

It seems the club had planned a South Sea Island party for that night but committee members were stumped pe with the decoration problem.

The problem quickly dissolved when Mr. and Mrs. Lowell H. Stormont, 5019 Boulevard : Place, recalled a friend in OakoH land, Cal. He is Trader Vic, ] ‘who has one of the best-known clubs on the West Coast. A letter was sent to him and the reply recently arrived with i enough suggestions to turn the B whole of Indianapolis into a psuedo island. ; Mr. Vic, who is the author of 8 two books on drinks and food, A entertained the Stormonts = when they were in California. = He suggested the club use tea b leaves on tables, banking them Ri with, fruits, flowers, matling, shells and fishing nets. Furthermore, he also added that it would be more colorful if guests would come in slacks and aloah shirts and hula skirts. And from all indications, «that's what they'll appear in. - - = HEADS OR TAILS, you can still win if you're ingenious fashionwise. And. it was a difficult decision to make yesterday at Miss Rhonda LaFlamme’s luncheon in her WilHams Creek home. Instead of the usual ecard game, the women decided it was * "too warm to exert any mental . ‘energy, so they created what “they called “Heads or Tails.”

They divide the group into two teams with one receiving a stole [and the other a bare hat with

After private conferences, team captains presented their Heads referred to the hat created by one team ang tails designated the unusual use made of:the stole. Top honors went to the stole group, which had managed to wrap the material. around the head in turban fashion and carry"it further to give a halter, top effect over the bodice. That's really stretching both imagination and scarf. ., » » MISS KAY JOHNSON, R. R. 5, believes in making her guests

feel at home. As a matter of

fact, she's a firm advocate of “There's no place like home.” With this idea in mind, she sent out invitations recently for yesterday's dinner party designating that guests were to wear what they'd normally have on at home during dinner. Her friends, being of a conservative nature, came dressed in casual summer costumes. That is, all but one appeared that way. And this one gentleman walked into the house clad in trunks saying, “I'm not apologizing but you didn’t say come dressed as you do for Sunday dinner.” At least the chap was honest -— and undoubtedly, comfortable,
