Mr. Taxpayer: Don’t build any hopes for lower county tax rates next year. Despite a lull in inflation, and despite election year aims of politicians to cut taxes, county spending in 1953 will go in the same old direction—up. That's how the picture looked yesterday when nearly all county departments had turned in their budget hopes for 1953 operations. For the first time in Marion County history, the requests will go over $4 million. Unles property valuations have gone up as much—and that’s a doubtful factor—it will mean another few cents piled onto the county tax rate.
