CHICAGO, July 9 (CDN)-—The GOP convention's new - fangled “tele-prompter” conked out for a, moment in the middle of Herbert Hoover's speech last night. TV and radio audiences heard

It shows the speaker's text a few lines at a time so that he does not appear to be reading. Observers said the device apparently stuck for a second during Hoover's talk. Television viewers first saw the device yesterday when a TV camera looked over New Hampshire Sen. Styles Bridges’ shoulder and showed his speech unrolling before him as he spoke.
