AA AKE mine straight. (Straight tea, that is.) And it 4"% won't be unusual this afternoon to hear this very statement at Mrs. Mona Darrell’s garden tea to- be in the home of her mother, Mrs. John Glynn, Noblesville Rd.
Today Mrs. Darrell will try her latest collector's items on her guests, "Every month she seems to acquire a new teapot and each time, according to reports, these containers get even more unusual than their predeCessors. - Téa will be poured this afternoon from a teapot sent to the hostess from China. It has a double spout and” can hold enough liquid to serve 24 people. But it's the double spout that will -add color to the whole event n The body of the pot is divided into two sections within. Cne contains hot water and the other, ultra strong concentrated tea in liquid form. First the water is poured into the cup, and in a similar manner as when pouring cream, the guest is asked, “When?” for the tea. That's one way to keep them all happy'—the strong and the weak, : ”. ” -. GUESTS FROM 2 TO 4 P. M. Wednesday in the new Meridian Street Methodist Church, 55th and Meridian Sts., will have more than tea to look forward to that afternoon. Guides will be provided to take them through the new building. And these guides will be fully
equipped to give them the his-
tory of the old congregation, the present church, and a description of the interior, equipment and furniture. Furthermore, the people who
planned, designed, decorated and built the church will be in the women's parlor for
further details.
Mrs. John Wayne Eppert Jr. was Miss Charlotte Ruth Lofstrom before her marriage last Sunday in the Presbyterian Church, Brazil. Parents of the couple are Mrs Edward F. Lofstrom, 326 Buckingham Dr., and Mr. and Mrs. Eppert Sr., Brazil,
Come see and have some tea. ” » » SUMMER HEAT OFTEN MARKS the beginning of the end—the end of family arguments, that is. And what's more, it gives the man of the house a chance to defend himself with tangible proof, A Broad Ripple husband has been bearing his wife's chatter all winter about his lack of physical beauty. It seems one of their neighbors, who recently moved there, is constantly being admired by the wives in the- district for the way he carries himself and for his Atlas build. At a neighborhood swim last aight, the group met in the pool to cool off. After seeing her idol in trunks for the first time, the once admiring wife turned to her husband saying, “How should I know his suits were. so well-padded?” It's all the disguise of guys these days.
” ” » A FEW FASHION-MINDED Indianapolis women received invitations to attend a cocktail party in New York. And this is one cocktail party they shouldn’t fear, noting who sent the invites. . They read, “Will you join us for cocktails at one-thirty on Friday, the twenty-seventh of June in our showrooms at 498 Seventh Ave. Sincerely, Sally Sober.” oo With a hostess named such, they'll have nothing to worry about. Incidentally, the invites were to the Henry. Rosenfield show.
