70 BE. OR NOT TO BE. That was the problem facig.

‘Miss Jacquelyn Williamson Thursday. Miss Williamson had made all her plans to be married at 5:30 p. m. Sunday to Raymond Max Wagaman,

U. 8. Navy. But Uncle Sam had other plans at the last minute for the prospective birdegroom.

At 4:55 p. m. Thursday, Ray

called his fiancee and told her his ‘orders had been cancelled and he wouldn't be able to get a leave until he received new orders — perhaps on Monday (yesterday). The Williamson family and Mr, and Mrs, Harry Wagaman, Martinsville, Ray’s parents, immediately got busy calling guests to tell them the wedding was off temporarily and canceling the cake and other details. A second. call came through from California,. where Mr. Wagaman was stationed, at 8 p. m. that same day. Something had happened and the Navy had given into the bridegroom-to-be allowing him an emergency leave. He finally got here late Saturday night. And like most tales, it had a happy ending with the couple being married at 5:30 p. m. Bunday in the West Washington Street Methodist Church. Of course the families had to start - from scratch making plans and inviting people again. . » . LAKE SHORE COUNTRY CLUB members will become clothes-conscious these next few days. And there's a good reason for their over-interest in costumes. On Friday night from 9 to midnight, the club’ will hold its big “Hos Down" dance with prizes going to the ones mest appropriately dressed. What's more, there'll be an official caller, Max Ingle, and music . by Harry Stevenson's Rhythm Rockets. : Mr, and Mrs. Robert. Delles;

chairmen, will- be assisted: by

Mr. apd Mrs. John Lovell, Miss Margaret Secendino and Frank Fox.

» 2 # WHAT WAS ONCE A CARRIAGE HOUSE is now a play-

house. At least, is a house

where one learns how to play

during leisure hours.

At 1455 N. Pennsylvania St, 4805

house into a contemporary art

school workshop. And the actual

studio is where carriages were once garaged in days gone by: Inside this quaint building is Ralph Hurst who instructs students in ceramics, sculpturing and how to make jewelry-—just for the fun of it. Mr. Hurst, who is currently on the teaching staff of Indiana University Art Center, has his work permanently exhibited in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. That's learning from an expert on how to relax, . » ” “THE THREE LITTLE BEARS” story was almost repeated yesterday. - Almost, in this case, because instead of porridge and beds, the used articles © were three backyard rubber swimming pools. It seems the local doctor, wife and child in this instance all own inflated swimming pools in which they can sit and cool off during the hot days. Yesterday, merely sitting in the water wasn't sufficient for relief so they left the pools filled with water and went for a drive, When they returned, someone had evidently been tampering with the water. Instead of a warm liquid, the three ‘pools were filled with ice cubes. And there's a Goldilocks living next door to them, too.
