ing the convocation Among these are relatives and friends who visit the Kardatzkes I sat on the porch and talked with Mrs. Kardatzke about her unusual hostess role, -She is a sweet-faced, matronly woman who just loves. people. And she understands true hospitality, the kind that turns the house ove: to guests and doesn't make a
chore of entertaining them “Sometimes during convocation
we have as many as 40.” she re called. “Over this week end, we expect 28." Home Expandable The house isn't large but is “expandable.” They have set up 80. many cote in the basement récreation room that it has betome a dormitory.

“We love it all,” was the mother’s comment, Both Dr. and Mrs, Kardatzke
are on the convocation program, She will conduct a young people's conference Monday on: “Do Young People Need Parents.” You see. she's quite an authority on family life, author of the popular booklet, “It's Fun Having a Fam ily,” and a frequent contributor to the Methodist magazine, “The Christian Home.” The Fulbright awards are financed with funds owed to the United States by foreign governments. After the close of World War II, instead of taking surplus - food and other supplies back to America our army turned the materials over to foreign nations which needed them. The recipents, in turn, are repaving us through the s¢ holarship awards proposed by Sen, William J. Ful
