In this pushmobile airplane illustration I have not shown dimensions, for no two boys would work this out alike. You will see that you will need two front wheels the same size to keep the plane level from side to side, but the rear wheel or third wheel can be smaller, for most planes up back on the ground. The framework of the plane is from by 4 inch pieces or 1 by 4 inch wood. It is triangular in shape, spread enough at the rear for the wheel to turn between the

MILTON BERLE'S mother has nothing on Lucille Ball's ma. Mrs. Ball attends all rehearsal and actual performances of “I Love Lucy” and laughs louder than anybody. “Lucy” is seen tonight at 7 on Channel 10 and Mondays at 8 p. m. on Channel 6. s 8 8 Wateh Sunday's radio-TV section ‘for the prize-winner of this week's letter-writing contest. The . best letter will be printed along with excerpts from other letters of interest. A subject Tor next week will be announced in the regular radio-TV column Sunday. » » .
TOM McGRATH, retired Chicago police lieutenant, now a resident in Logansport, will be the narrator for “Gangbusters” tonight at 8 on WFBM. This 1s the first of six stories to be dramatized during the coming year—and narrated by Mr. McGrath. Titled “The Case of the Three Bandits,” the tale is Of three stick-up men who tried to shoot it out with the police. The driver of the car got away, but was apprehended after one of his cohorts was killed and the other captured. , # ” . THERE must be something about television that calms down the big stars. Temperamental Hedy Lamarr was reported to be gentle as a lamb and “Miss CoOperation” when she was Donald O'Connor's guest star on the “Comedy Hour.” o ” » IT WON'T be a quiz show, but a big TV participation game with an audience and mammoth prizes that will return Fred Allen to the home sereens next fall. Like Groucho Marx’s “You Bet Your Life,” his show will be filmed and edited down to 30
minutes to “salvage the best of
There the resemblance ends. “They insisted that I do a show in the Milton Berle vein and that's a varicose vein as far as I'm concerned,” says Mr. Allen. “I was panned. But then only 10 per cent of the people in the country do the work. The other 90 per cent either pan you or tax you.” PAE ie FRIENDS say the reason Shirley Temple is open for TV offers is that hubby Charles Black, now a lieutenant commander in the Navy, will return to the video field after he gets out of uniform. » ” f J CBS HAS taken over a gigantis New York milk depot fo studio space. . ” ” ” ON THE summer replacement schedule is the Peter Lind Hayes and Mary Healy team, pinch-hit-ting for “Toast of the Town.” s s 8» PLANS will be announced shortly for the ‘time slot in which the television version of radio's long-time comedy mystery, “Mr. and Mrs. North,” will be premiered. The televersion will not be simulcast with the radio series but will be a completely different presentation and will feature actors other than Joe Curtin and Alice Frost. The stories will be written especially for television and will be different than those used in the radio version, but the popular Pam and Jerry North will still be the main characters.

other trick on the hand. At other times, however, logical reasoning will tell you that the play of the ace will ruin your chances of defeating the contract, whereas playing low will, at least keep those chances alive.’ : Follow Mr, Masters’ reasoning in today's deal. His partner opened the nine of clubs against the spade slam and Mr. Champion won with the ace in “his own hand. Two rounds of trumps were taken, ending on the board. Now dummy’'s 10 of, hearts was led and ‘it was up to Mr. Masters. He played low after thinking along these lines. Mr. Meek’s lead". of the niné of clubs was

Meek could not have more than two cards in the suit and even if they were both honors, they would fall under the ace and king. Therefore, there were no tricks for the .defenders in diamonds. It was too much to hope for a trick in the trump suit and it became cledr that if the slam could be°beaten, it would have to be beaten in hearts and clubs. So Mr. Masters ducked the heart lead and Mr. Meek won with the king. Subsequently, there was no way for Mr, Champion to avoid the loss of a club trick. s If Mr. Masters had his ace of hearts at trick ed Mr. Meek's king could have been ruffed out, setting up a heart winner in the closed hand on which a club could have been discarded from dummy,
