63d YEAR—NUMBER 78

Mama Expects Quints AndPapaGoesNumb

By United Press :

WEYMOUTH, Mass., May 29—An attractive, 27 year-old mother of three children was told today she may give birth to quintuplets. “It's the will of God,” said brunet Mrs. Marion Manning of South Weymouth at a hospital where she is awaiting the multiple births which may oecur at any time between now and mid-August. “I'm numb about the whole thing,” said her <husband, John, 36, president of a bus company, who was busy at home trying to care for their children— Bennis, 4, Mary Alice, 3, and Ann Marie, 2. X-rays, taken about a month ago by Dr. Robert R. Ryan of South Weymouth, showed that Mrs. Manning would give birth to quadruplets. Dr. Ryan then conferred with specialists. Further X-rays were taken and the physicians concluded Mrs. Manning might have five instead of four babies. | No American woman ever has had quintuplets who survived. : Quintuplets come once out of 57 million births.
