"Roll 100 A-Bombs In 1, Says Magazine ||

WASHINGTON. May 28—Air Force Magazine said today Congress has been told there “soon” will be a single bomb with explosive power exceeding that of all the bombs dropped in World War II. Only one weapon could fit that description—the H-bomb. The U. S. Air Force alone dropped more than 2.5 million tons of bombs in World War II. The magazine, published by the Air Force Association, a veterans’ organization, said tne report was given to a congressional committee by “an eminent authority,” but was censored. This quotation was attributed to the authority: “Soon a few men in one airplane, flying at sonic speeds and never seeing the ground, will be able to drop anywhere on the face of the earth a single bomb containing an explosive power far greater than the total dropped during World War IL.” : Such a bomb would be the equal or superior in destructive power of 100 atomic ‘bombs, the magazine said.
