rectly concerned with the national defense, has not been accorded anywhere near the consideration made available to other groups,” Roy T. Hurley, Curtiss-Wright president, wrote: “An intensive study just completed shows that profit margins —before and after taxes—for the alrcraft industry are sharply below those for the automotive, aircraft and automotive parts and machine tool groups,” he said. With his letter to Congress and government officials, Mr. Hurley included a copy of the survey. He said a new national policy on the aircraft industry is needed.
