FT WASN'T the opening lead but the second lead made by Miss Brash which guaranteed the downfall of this contract. The opening was the six of hearts and Mr. Masters put up the queen. Mrs. Keen let this hold on the chance that Miss Brash had started with six cards in the suit. Mr, Masters returned a heart and the jack lost to Miss Brash’s ace. : At this poin Miss Brash; ouq clear to Miss Brash that another heart Jead would set up the balance of her suit. would that serve? The closest thing she had to an entry was the jack of diamonds. She decided .that if the contract could be set at all, it would have to be Mr. Masters’ cards that would do the job.
