The ordinance as submitted would increase $2 parking stickers to $5 and rush-hour parking fines to $20. Five dollar fines would go ‘to $10 under %he proposed ordinance. However, a legal hitch #n the fine increase has been discovered which would~make several parking violations in addition to the rush-hour type go to $20. An amendment scheduled by Councilmen would make the $20 fine apply only to rush-hour parking. In addition, several Council: men have said they do not want parking fines to be higher than moving traffic violation fines. Present plan calls for either increasing moving traffic violation fines to. $20 or decreasing rushhour fines to $10.
