Gordon Reynolds

For four years Gordon Reynolds has been delivering The Indianapolis Times. His customers are along Villa Ave. Pleasant! Run Pkwy, Orange, Randolph and Prospect Sts.

Gordon is a stale sophomore at Technical High School, and lives at 1158 Villa Ave. He is a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church.

Gordon spends some of his| earnings on shows, school and! clothes and saves the rest. He| plays ‘all high school sports and builds model airplanes.

CROP Goal Is $100,000

A goal of $100,000 for 1952 will! claim the efforts of the Indiana! Christian Rural Overseas Program. The contributions to CROP in| the form of grain from Hoosier! farmers will be used for rehabili-| tation in war-ravaged "and economically substandard areas abroad. Money donations raised through CROP will be invested, in part, in hatching eggs, and in pigs and goats for Korea by the Heifer Project. Other funds will be used for making and distributing plows in India, for seed corn and fertilizer for Greece and other areas,

$68,000 Last Year

Last year, Indiana farmers gave $68,975 to overseas relief which was distributed by Catholic Rural Life, Church World Service and Lutheran World Relief. New Church World Service alone sponsors Indiana CROP through the Indiana Council of Churches. At the recent meeting when the state committee of CROP decided on its goal, the following officers

were elected:

Gov. _Schricker, honorary chairman; T. R. Johnston, director of Purdue University department of information, chairman; Dr. Ralph L. Holland, executive of The Indiana Council of Churches, vice chairman; Larry Brandon, vice president! of the Indiana Farm Bureau, secretary; and Harry 8. NEW YORK, May 9 (UP)—|

Charles Travitsky, 49, who operates a business here under the! name of the American Diamond Mfg. Co., was charged with smug-| gling yesterday a few hours after| customs men nabbed him at Idle-| wild Airport with some $43,000 worth of diamonds in his possession. Bail of $25,000 was set for Travitsky in Brooklyn federal court and U. 8. Commissioner Martin Epstein set June 10 as a hearing date. i U. 8. District Attorney Frank Parker said that Travitsky ar-| rived in Miami, Fla, yesterday| from Havana, Cuba, and then flew to Idlewild. Some of the high quality dia-| monds found in his possession] were of two-carat size, Mr. Parker said. | Mr. Parker said Travitsky was, a professional diamond smuggler, who had made six trips to Europe in the last six years. He said Travitsky admitted taking diamonds to Europe to sell them, but returned with them when he couldn't find a buyer.
