NEW YORK, May 3-—The plans of the Metropolitan Opera for its next, 68th, season come prise 23 operas by 14 composers, Three of them will be ngw proe ductions, nine will be revivals and 11 will be repeats. - One of the new productions is the American premiere of Igor Stravinsky's “The Rake's Progress,” which had its world premiere last fall in Venice, Italy. The ‘other two new productions are: Verdi's “La Forza del Destino,” which will open the season, andgRugeint * “La Boheme,” to be sung affernately in Italian and in English, The complete plan includes four operas by Wagner (“Lohengrin,” “Tristan und Isolde,” “Die Meistersinger” and !Parsifal”), four | by Verdi (“La Forza del Destino,” “Aida,” “Don Carlo” and “Rigo= {letto), three by Puccini (“La Boheme,” “Madame Butterfly” an “Tosca”), two by Mozart (“Don Giovanni” and “Cosi fan Tutte”), and one opera by each of the 10 following composers: Donizetti (“Don Pasquale”), Moussorgsky (“Boris Godunov”), Ponchielll ‘| (“La Gioconda”), Saint - Saens (“Samson ' et Delila”), Bizet (“Carmen), Mascagni (“Cavalleria Rusticana”), Leoncavallo (“Pagliacci”), Richard Strauss (“Der Rosenkavalier’”), Johann Strauss (“Fledermaus”) and Igor {Stravingky (“The Rake's Progeress”). The season will last 22 weeks, from Nov. 10, 1952, until Apr. 11, 1953.
