TEEN - AGE FORMALS — The young lady whose date book is crammed with exciting events and dates for high school graduation festivities will want the prettiest formal she can find, The newest trend from New York is the covered- -up look. Almost every bare formal has its little jacket or stole, others have sleeves and covered backs. A “must” with all formals is a stiff petticoat. All the sheer formals photographed have their own taffeta slips, but a crinoline “underneath it ali” gives additional fashion interest.

USCLED men swinging clubs reminds one of the early cave days. But last night's men with clubs in their hands had slightly different ideas in mind, Miss Mary Ellen Cotter was hostess at a golf party

last’ night. And the green was right on the rumpus room floor. By means of stove piping, and a piece from an old tire with a doorway cut covered with a tacked cloth, she managed to set catchy obstacles in the way of the players. As guests entered, she equipped each with a club, (in the form of a wooden spoon), and a few balls, (cut round from potatoes). As the players approached the 19th hole, they stopped and helped themselves from a punch bowl. It sounds like a lot of work just for a drink. s # » FOR THE PAST YEAR Jerry Dickinson has been boasting of his wife's level-headed attitude toward poodle cuts. “Why, Jeanne wouldn't get one of those things for anything. She isn’t fad-diseased,” were his words. Now, poodles are slowly being nourished to a slightly Jonger look. The fad’s been h Last night, Jerry walked into the house to find his “Jeanne with the long long hair” looking like a GI fresh out of the post barber shop. It’s ‘quite evident Mrs. Dickinson doesn’t get fad-crazy but what she doesn’t get first, (like most women), she gets worse. 2 ” 8 THE ARMY changed its mess hall location recently. And the

new location was the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Charles, The Charleses, who recently entertained with a buffet supper, invited Col. Gerald Fielding, Oklahoma, to attend. It seems the Colonel was passing through the city with a few men and stopped off to call his old friends, the hosts. Immediately, Mrs. Charles invited Col. Fielding to the supper and asked him to bring his friends too. As it turned out, a “few men” turned out to be 10 officers faced with a meal prepared for eight couples, all of whom were present too. Well, it's K-rations.

’ # # # BOB LERNER has come up with a new angle for fishing. When asked why he preferred fishing in Florida rather than on some quiet lake, he said; “Well, you see, I don’t really care if I catch anything on my line or not. I like to sit where there are lots of people coming and going, drop in my line and watch the bathing suit parade.” You can always buy the stuff in a fish market. # tJ # “CRUISING down the river” in a few weeks will be Mr. and Mrs. Tom Sharp. They will leave Indianapolis this week en route to New Orleans. From there, they will take a cruise on the Mediterranean.
