Sefmon of the Week—

“But when Jesus saw it, he was much and sald unto them, “Suffer the little children to come unto me and forbid them not; for of such is the kingdom of God.” Mark 10:14.

GREAT MULTITUDES of § adults followed Jesus into | beyond Jordan and 4G

Judea there he taught them con-

cerning the lives. When the conference was al-

most over and Jesus was prepar- |

ing to depart, some mothers, thinking over the wonder ‘and practical value of what Jesus had taught, brought their children to Him hoping that a blessing from Him might bring happiness and usefulness to the lives of their children. The response of the disciples does not sound in the least oldfashioned to us for we hear it each day. They were concerned with adults, this was an adult conference and “the children made them nervous” as we moderns say. The quickest way to rid themselves of this irritation was to brusquely send them away, for after all they were | mere children and would not be of great importance until they they adults. Jesus looking at the children, saw the hope of a new world, for their lives were fresh and new like the clean white pages of a book not yet written. They placed their unquestioning faith in their parents; they wanted to learn. If they could place their hands in the hand of their heavenly Father with the same love and faith, if they could seek the will of God as they sought knowledge, then truly the Kingdom of God could come,

has led children to believe that dishonesty is wrong only (if caught. The hates, fears, and the pre\judices are passed on from the older generation to the younger, |day an day. Children are walkown the paths we have woiked before them, their foot-
