Times Howes Editor Informal livability will-be the theme of the furnishings in the 1952 Home Show “House for Moderns." ; The house, to be open today through Apr. 27, was decorated by the Rainier Furniture Co. under the direction of Harry Lindstaedt, co-ordinator of style and color for Rainier’'s. Following are the high points of the interior decor: Floors In the hall and living room, Bigelow-Sanford’s “Marimba” carpeting.” It's made of 100 per cent rayon fibres with a swirled effect. The texture is achieved by twisted gray loops against a background of white weave. It won the 1851 “Trail Blazer Award” given by the Home Fashion League. In the master bedroom, cocoa

old gold cotton loop carpeting. In the boy's room, beige cotton. All the cotton floor coverings are Zephyr by Artloom. Each is wall-to-wall, Gray marble floors] in kitchen and family room.

Ceiling and Walls

Bone white ceilings throughout. In the living room one wall is birch and continues to include the fireplace; the end walls are window walls and the fourth clapboard stained hlue gray. ; In the girl's bedroom a whimsical wallpaper pattern of early birds. In the boy's bedroom a dark brown painted clapboard wall and the window walls share honors with a birch closet wall. | In the master bedroom, brown, green, gold and turquoise chain pattern wallpaper.

Lighting In the living room spot lighting. The family room has flush ceiling

light interspersed with direct lamps for reading.

Draperies

Each room treated alike so far as casement draperies are concerned. These are pure white, run

outside but from within. In living and family room an abstract drape in blue, browns, black, persimmon and nasturtium which sets color scheme for whole house. The entrance hall has an overdrape of geometric Chinese pattern. In the girl’s room an overdrape of old gold, bitter green and coral rose plaid. In the boy's, draw draperies of beige, brown, aqua in a cowboy theme. Throughout house a double ceiling track.

Furniture

The living room has BrownSaltman’s Pacifica line of .tani oy ave. #54 All upholstered pieces are long, low and foam rubber padded. The sofa curves up on either end as maximum relaxation aid, has black and white textured upholstery and is 9 feet long. Qutrigger coffee table in tanquile mahogany; another that
