The sessions are sponsored by The Indianapolis Smith College Club and given by Mrs. Dione Lucas of the New York Cordon Bleu Cooking School’ and Res-

Following is her cake recipe for Gateau Favorite (Maple
” " " GATEAU FAVORITE (Maple Cake) 13 ec. vegetable shortening or butter 1 ¢. granulated sugar 4 eggs 115 e. cake flour Ya e. milk 2 tsps. making powder 215 ec. maple sirup Cream: the butter, add the sugar and beat until white. Beat in the egg yolks. 8ift the flour and add with the milk. Fold in the baking powder and four stiffly beaten egg whites. Grease two shallow layer cake tins. Line the bottoms with waxed paper and grease again.
Divide the gake batter in two
tins and bake in a 350 degree F. oven for 35 mihutes, until the cakes are golden on top. Turn out on waxed paper and cool slightly before frosting with maple sirup and egg white frosting.
