Mitchell has filed a motion to dis-| miss the second manslaughter charge against Dr. Charles LaDuron because of lack of evi-
dence, Dr. LaDuron, 58, was acquitted Feb. 2 in the shooting death of Ralph Carter, 30, Terre Haute. During the trial he said he shot Carter and his brother, Seibert, 27, in self-defense because they were blackmailing him. Both were shot in a knock-down-and-drag-out struggle in Dr. LaDuron’s office. Dr. LaDuron was on trial only in the death of Ralph Carter, and when the verdict was announced Prosecutor Mitchell indicated he probably would not press prosecution on the second charge.
Bid Under Estimated Julietta Project Cost
One of three bids submitted today for a new sewage treatment plant at Julietta was $1200 under the estimated $80,000 cost for the project. The low bid of $78,800 was submitted by H. D. Touslev Co. of Indianapolis. Other bidders were A. V. Stackhouse Co., Indianapolis, $82,000, and Edward A, McCarthy & Sons, Inc., Cincinnati, $89.789. County commissioners will award the County Home contract Monday Henry B. Steeg, project engineer, said the new plant will replace an obsolete septic tank system, Construction will start soon north of the main building.
