Victim of Barn Fire

Other fires gutted two homes in the ‘city and county last night. The injured fireman, Thomas M. Harriett, 28, of 417 8. Routiers Ave. was in fair condition in St. Francis Hospital today. He was hurt when a gasoline tank on a small garden tractor in the barn exploded. His brother ‘is Jack Harritt, 26, one of the deputy sheriffs who investigated the fire.
A captain of the volunteer fire department was treated for burns on the left hand and face but stayed until the fire was over. He is Edward Sentman, 43, of 69 N. Cecil Ave.
The barn's' owner, Fred Merritt. estimated his loss at $2000. Cause of the blaze was not determined. . 2 Canaries Perish Two canaries perished in the flames that burned out the fourroom Winfred Scott residence, 1515 Sumner Ave., this morning, but none of. the family were home.
