Possible Counter-Revolt Threatens Batista

HAVANA, Mar. 12—1It looked today as If FPulgencio Batista was running Cuba for keeps, but both he and Havana were keeping their fingers crossed against a possible counter-revolution. w 1 Gen, Batista . the perennial strong man who master - mifided the well-man-nered revolt Cuba's first in 13 years was taking ne chances. seemed to be simmering down to a few hot-tempered words in neighborhood cafes. But that, to many Cubans, was the catch; everything seemed too quiet, They couldn't forget that Eusebio Mujal, boss of the half-millfon-strong Cuban. confederation of labor, had eluded Gen. Batista’'s strong-arm boys and was in hiding somewhere, presumably plotting.

Students Hole Up

Another source of nervousness was Havana's students.

University of Havana, apparently trying to make up their minds whether to show their anti‘Batista feelings violently. Gen.
