in the offing. As far as local programs are concerned, for the time being they will be confined almost exclusively to newscasts. In time, the station hopes to build up the game sort of service for Indianapolis it now has in Anderson and Muncie. Asked specifically why the Anderson station wished to expand here, a studio official said it was a natural enlarging process in-| tended to bring better coverage of the state capital. At present a majority of the station time x devoted to “hill billy” music. In fact, the schedule! runs from 9 a. m. to noon and 1 to 3 p. m. At 12:45 there is a 15-minute program titled “World's Best Seller On the Air,” during which a narrator reads from the Bible uninterruptedly. From 3:30 to 4:30 p. m. you can hear “Daily Hit Parade,” popular music finding favor in the area. As with WXLW, WCBC signs

EVERY Wednesday evening Indiana University presents a show over WTTV-—sometimes it lasts five minutes—sometimes 25 minutes. This isn't because the University people sometimes find themselves short of material—or decide to be lazy for a change. Their entire show depends on just how much fight the two “stars” of the program immediately before show. Indiana University's TV show follows the Wednesday evening boxing bouts—-as you no doubt guessed—and lasts until 10 p. mm. If the bouts happen to be long— IU’s show is short and vice versa. “The show ‘is for the sole purpose of acquainting Indiana peo-| ple with their largest State University. It deals with advances being made—or just the daily routine—in various departments of the school, and is shaping up into an interesting informational pro-

Monday at 10:30 p. m., one of the top filmed shows, has suspended shooting until its ‘sponsor can cheek into costs. The half hour flickers all cost more than $30,000 each and one ran to $43.000. Some people have suggested if expenses continue to mount, only a handful of clients will be able to afford video unless co-spon-sorship becomes the thing—along with longer commercials. Blind Man Called Most Avid Disney Fan

SYDNEY, Australia, Mar. 12 (CDN)—A Sydney blind man probably can be rated the world’s most avid Disney fan. He is radio engineer William Turnball who has just “seen” the motion picture “Fantasia” for the 61st time. “Fantasia” was the last picture Mr. Turnball saw before he lost his’ sight several years ago. He says he loves the music. Each bar of it reminds him of a scene in the film. “I can see the picture in my mind as vividly as T did when I had my sight,” Mr. Turnball explains.

Says Protestants |

NEW YORK, Mar. 12 (UP)— |The president of the American |Council of Christian Churches charged yesterday that Bibles are burned and Protestants are persecuted in Franco Spain. Dr. W. W. Breckbill made the statement after a denunciation of Protestantism by Peter Cardinal Segura Y Saenz of the Spanish Roman Catholic Church, which Dr. Breckbill said ‘virtually declares war upon” Protestants.

“I would recommend in all Prot-'

estant churches in America, and the world over, special intercession to God for persecuted Protestants in Spain,” he said.
