Brooklyn Pays $35,000 Bonus

Lynk played baseball, football and basketball for four years each at St. John’s prep in Brooklyn. He hit 394 last year. His brothers, Ed and Harry, once played in the Boston Red Sox and Dodger farm systems respectively. His father’s baseball career was short-circuited by an ‘eye wound suffered during Work War I.
Athletics WEST PALM BEACH, Fla, Mar. 7—The Philadelphia Athletics reported-‘all signed” today when Catcher Joe "Tipton and Utility Infielder Billy Hitchcock came to terms. Tipton, who hit .239 in 72 games last season, is believed to have signed for the same amount as last year. Hitchcock, a .306 hitter in 77 games, received a slight increase.
