By United Press WASHINGTON, Feb, 28—President Truman put in a plug today for Gov. Adlai Stevenson of Illinois, who has been mentioned as a Democratic presidential possibility if Mr. Truman does not seek re-election. But. Mr, Truman, at a news conference, gave no hint of his own political plans or whether he might be grooming Stevenson in case he does not run himself. All he would say about his own plans was that he will make no announcement during his forthcoming vacation at Key West, Fla., which is expected to last until Mar. 28. | Mr, Stevenson's name came up, when Mr. Truman was asked whether he would be happy with the governor as the Democratic presidential nominee. He replied that Mr. Stevenson is a good man | and one of the best governors Illinois has had. In his opinion, Mr. Truman said, this is the best | recommendation a man can have, for President. .
