Services will be at'2 p. m. Monday at Bethel A. M. E. Church in Marion for Mrs, Flossie Kathrine Bailey, organizer of the Indiana chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. Burial will be in Marion. She died Wednesday in General Hospital. Born and educated in Kokomo, Mrs. Bailey, who was 55, moved to Indianapolis from Marion in! 1943. She was a member of Allen Chapel A. M. E. Church, where she was second vice president. of} the Women's Missionary Society. She also held the office of president of the Indiana Conference Branch of Women's Missionary Society. After organizing the state NAACP, she was the first president. She was also a member of Indiana Council of Negro Women, Phyllis Wheatley YWCA and Mary Chapter No. 10 OES in Marion. Mrs. Balley was active in state politics and was a member of the Indiana State Democrat Central Committee’s Speaking Bureau. She {is survived by a son, Walter Charles, Los Angeles, who formerly did research work] in mental health at Flanner| House, and a brother, Attorney O. Warren Harvey, Gary. Honorary pallbearers are Gov. Schricker, Attorney Henry J. Richardson Jr., Dr. Paul A Battles and Ira Haymaker, state Democratic chairman.
