Cut Swift Pace in Women’s City Meet

THE SABBATH was no lay of rest for Indianapolis bowlers.

In the women’s tourney at Pennsylvania and Pritchett's Alleys, the first week-end settled down with some tantalizing performances. The men's city tournament ended for 1952 with the team events at Dezelans’. . And { the first of two week - ends: of West Side singles was completed in exceptionally fine style. Two of the little girls everybody must watth in the women's 33d tourney showed them why yesterday at Pritchett’s. Lila Littrell and Jo Berkopes erased the previous alltime doubles score with 1199 actual count. The former mark was established in 1949 by Pat Dryer. and Gertrude Rhodes with 1174.

Miss Berkopes rolled a 588 actual to grab the lead. Ann Crull of Hick- | man’s Whirlaways gained the handicap singles lead with a 58560—645. Helen Hare is second with 515-120—635 and Jo Berkopes retains third place on a 585-48—| 633. ” ” s
