CHICAGO, Jan. 31—A student nurse, whose leart and lungs stopped functioning for akmpst two hours, was back on duty today because of the strenuous work of surgeons and a $32 homemade machine. Dark-haired Darline Timke, 21, went about her tasks at Chicago's Presbyterian Hospital, scene of the hair-raising fight for her recovered from her brush with death. . Doctors said the only ill effects she suffered from the ordeal was \ brief period of amnesia. But!¥ even that has been partly wiped ° away. . “She positively owes her life to n electrical device perfected in yur research department” said Dr. William G. Hibbs, medical director at the hospital.
