Humboldt Telephones Have New Sounds There were new sounds on Humboldt exchange telephone lines today. Indiana Bell converted ringing equipment on those lines at midnight, and people calling Humboldt will hear “more quiet and
. modulated” sounds for dial tone,
busy signal and rings. Bell officials hoped the new sounds would be “more pleasing,” and anyway, the old equipment was rundown, they said. The new tune on busy will enable operators to tell the difference between local and long distance busy signals.
Farm Hand Cleared Of Tool-Stealing Charge
A 54-year-old Marion County
farm hand today was cleared of charges of stealing $33 of tools from his former employer,

The judge said there was no evidence to prove a grand larceny charge that Mr. Meeks, a 30-year Navy veteran, had stolen tools from Russell Sands, R., R. 7, Box 387.
