Prior to teaching at Shortridge (1919-37), Miss Todd graduated from the old Indianapolis High School and Pratt Institute in New York City. She studied art under, Arthur W. Dowd, Hans Hoffman and Robert Phillips, all of New, York City, and Charles Haw{horne of Provincetown, Mass. |

She served as vice president

charter member. She belonged to Second Presbyterian Church. i Survivors are two nephews, N.| Taylor and Herbert Todd, both of| Indianapélis, and a niece.

Betz Retires Today

Mayor Betz, Democrat, who was defeated for re-election. will retire as president of the league today. = Election of a new president-was turned into a free-for-all scramble by the retirement of two normal successors from their mayoralty jobs. Mayor Robert L. Stevenson of Columbus, first vice president of the league, was the normal successor for election to the presidency. But he didn’t run for reelection for mayor of Columbus. ‘Mayor Eugene H. Swartz of Gary, second vice president, also was disqualified for the presidency by refusing to run again.
