Hoffman received $2300 from the Army and royalty rights on the use of the valve by civilian firms on all but federal contracts. r Some of the most interesting] suggestions are those of the Class E or $10 award type. They are awards based on suggestions whose value cannot be computed in terms of saving money but are helpful nevertheless. One such award went to a grandmother who got tired of using four rubber stamps on the same papers. She suggested that all the information be contained on a single stamp.
