Wreaths with red bows, favors and party hats, Christmas cards, tree ornaments, nutcups and minjature Christmas trees, menu covers and wall decorations and other articles have been made up and are being put in place

Syphilis Found To Shorten Life

CHICAGO, Dec. 15—Evidence syphilis shortens life was presented by Dr. Paul D. Rosahn of Yale University at the meeting here of The American Academy Medical scientists have not been sure whether people with syphilis died earlier than nonsyphilitics because of the disease or whether their shorter lifespan was due to social and economic factors. To get his evidence, Dr. Rosahn used mice of the same genetic, or inherited backgroundy and putting a pair of the same sex from the same litter in a cage. One had syphilis, the other did not. Otherwise the mice were the same and lived in exactly the same environment. The females without syphilis lived about 80 days longer than their syhilitic sisters, and the males without syphilis

Cold Sores From Behaving

By Science Service CHICAGO, Dec, 15—Add cold sores and fever blisters to the list | of ailments which may in some cases be brought on by ne disturbances. Studies showing this were reported by Drs. Harvey Blank of Pennsylvania University and Morris W, Brody of Temple University here.
