Indianapolis public schools will receive an extra $270,000 state tuition funds under a decision of the Indiana Appellate Court yesterday. The Court upheld a Marion County Superior ruling that the state school aid distribution last August should have been based upon 1951 salary levels instead of the 1949 formuia. Distribution of 858 million state funds was made under the 1949 formula by State Superintendent of Public Instruction Wilbur Young. The Court ruling was on a suit by the Gary School Board, which Young's basis for the distribution. State officials were considering annealing the decision to the Indiana Supreme Court. If the court decision ordering the Aucust payments based upon the 1951 salary schedule is finally

upheld, Indiananolis’ share of the |state money will be boosted from [$2,562,000 to $2,832,000.
