By United Press CAIRO, Egypt, Nov, 29—Beautifut Egyptian shimmy-dancer Samia Gamal was married today to Texas playboy Sheppard (Abdullah) King in a 15-minute Moslem ceremony. The wedding in a lawyer's office was celebrated with orange juice and pink and white sugarcoated almonds—an Arab symbol of prosperity. But the court-

ship was powered mostly by champagne. Mr. King said he wouldn't drink champagne tonight be-

cause “Samia will afford me all the intoxication I need.” He said. marriage wouldn't exactly end his playboy life. “From now én, Samia and I will play together.”

Met in Paris

Mr. King met Samia in Paris,

United Press Staff Correspondent NEW YORK, Nov. 29 — You'd just never figure that an Egyptian shimmy dancer over in Cairo would cause so much commotion in Breoklyn. Especially when she was marrying a guy from Texas. But Samia Gamal, or Mrs. Sheppard (Abdullah) King after today had her name in lights at a neighborhood movie theater in the heart of Brooklyn the past two days, and her merits as a Texas oil millionaire’'s wife thoroughly aired by customers on their way out of the theater. Everybody was happy—the film distributor who dug out the 3-vear-old Egyptian musical “Love of My Life” when Samia hit the headlines; the theater owner, who {''ed his 600 seats both nights 1 up a sign outside read, “Famous Egyptian er Who Won the Heart of a 5s Oil Millionaire, See What ¢ Has That Bewitches Men.”

Her role as the heroine who /got her man after first winning face as a dancer, however, closely paralleled her personal story. Except that Fareed E! Atrash, who played the male lead and who romanced Samia in private life until King came along, had no oil wells in the script.
