LET'S TALK ABOUT
(44 Pome By LOUIS RAINIER INFORMALLY YOURS
Informality in home decoration is the order of the day. The “special occasion” rooms and: the domestic staff required to care for them are both things of the past. Today most of use live in smaller homes—homes that are geared te our tempo of living, designed and tastefully furnished to suit our. informal way of life.
This does not imply that our homes have lost their individuality. Quite the opposite. The new informality in decorating and furnishing offers the home planner greater scope than ever before to express individual tasfe. Nor does this informal trend in interiors lack elegance. Rich wall colors, glowing satiny patinas of furniture finishes are reflected in Contemporary fabrics on sofas, chairs and in draperies to give distinct character and elegance to our rooms. The new informal furniture has emerged as a result of our demands for furniture that suits the way we live today. It merges Traditional and modern designs into sturdy, functional pieces of beauty of form that we'll never tire of. Sectional sofas that lend ‘themselves to a variety of arrangements; groups of chests, desks, bookcases that add immeasureable storage space and at the same time beautify our rooms. We want to tell you more ' about the new informal deco- : rating trend. Come in, let's talk it over. *

Gov. Schricker's office said no official notice of the Michigan request had been received here,
| Continued Case | Gorman, who operates the leased wire service supplying racing information, was arrested] here Nov. 16 on the Michigan warrant, He posted $1000 bond and requested a hearing in Municipal Court 3. Special Judge Leo O'Connor continued the case until Dec, 11, after pointing out the defendant
was not accused of any offense that is in violation of Indiana law, " At the original hearing, Gor-
man's attorney argued his client had not been in Michigan on the date named in the affidavit and consequently could not be guilty of the offense charged. He also pointed out no state is charged with enforcement of another state's criminal laws, that the crime charged also be a violation of Indiana law before extradition is granted. :
Judge Clark, Governor to Talk Today
Gov. Schricker's office’ said Mayor-élect Alex Clark was to meet with the Governor at 2:30 p. m. today to discuss when he will resign as Municipal Court Judge of Court 4. Mr. Clark will wait until Jan. 1, or resign immediately. depending upon the Governor's wishes. As soon as Mr. Clark's resignation is announced. the Governor is expected to make an appointment to fill the vacancy. ! Several Contenders contenders for the bench post at this moment are Addison Dowling. Glenn Funk, Harry Riddell and Rufus C. Kuykendall. A local Republican attorney. Lawrence A. Shaw. this morning sent a letter to the Governor urging him to appoint any one of many “qualified” Negroes to the court post-in-the interest of demonstrating minority groups are entitled to equal representation. Mr. Shaw suggested five attorneys he considered “outstanding choices.” They were Mr. Kuyken.dall, Robert Lee Brokenburr, Wilbur Grant, Frank Beckwith and Howard R. Hooper.

new charges against the youths. Deputy Prosecutor Palmer K. Ward © dismissed second-degree purglary indictments against the six last week in Criminal Court 1 on condition they ‘enter military service. He also: said the prosecuting witness failed to appear Barred Enlistment The next day recruiting officers parred the youths from enlistment, criticising the action of the prosecutor’s office. The recruiters
said: “The Armed Forces are not correctional institutions and we
cannot accept men like that. The Army's high moral and character standards cannot be waived.” Prosecutor Fairchild charged the recruiters’ statement was a “sudden, peculiar change of attitude.” He said other youths had peen allowed to enlist in similar cases. “An Army recruiting sergeant sat in my office not six weeks ago and begged us to drop charges against a man so he could enlist. And we did,” the prosecutor said, Says Man Subpenaed The prosecutor's ‘office also denied that the prosecuting witness in the case, Thomas Nolte, had not been -subpenaed to appear at the trial.
