A 16-year-old boy was sent to Marion County Jail after he admitted drinking “many times” in North Side taverns, The youth was ordered held 10 days after he told Juvenile Court Referee Lawrence Hines he drank “just because I like beer like anybody else.” The teen-ager is one of five children of a widowed: mother who works to support the family, Juvenile Court officers said. He was expelled this year from high school and has refused to work, they added.
