DID THE APOSTLES HAVE SUCCESSORS The theory of aposiolic succession assumes that Christ's apostles appointed successors who in furn @ other successors in an unbroken line on down fo the present day. Many “bishops” claim fo be successors of the early apostles empowered with fhe same great authority which our Lord's apostles had. Is this uine! Is it founded upon the Bible! A careful study of the New Testament will show that the whole theory assumpfion, nowhere founded upon the word of God.
In the first place, there is no promise in the New Testament thai the apostles would have successors.
