Ind, Nov. 20— Six persons, ipcluding the widow of a celery farm worker executed for the crimes, today claimed a $15,000 reward for the solution of three 1944 rape-slayings here, A specipg reward commission heard the claims of Mrs. Marie whose ‘husband, Franklin, wsa electrocuted at the state prison last December, and five others last night. Sheriff Harold Zeis, a member of the six-man group, said the commission will meet in a closed session in a few days to decide who gets the

money.

Freight Train Lost, Pupils Late for Lunch

An 82-car Baltimore & Ohio freight train got lost here yesterday. It stopped 14 minutes on the tracks at Somerset Ave. Late for lunch as a result were a number of pupils ‘of nearby School 67. B. & O. officials explained Conductor C. C. Hazelrigg, who was supposed to take the train to the Warfield yards, got on the wrong track. Hazelrigg stopped nine minutes longer than the law allows, to collect his thoughts, So police collected him for stopping longer than allowed.

Eduard Benes’ Brother Dies in South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. Nov. 20 (UP)—Vojta Benes, 73, former Czechoslovakian statesman and elder "brother of that country's late president, Eduard Benes, died today at a nursing home. Mr. Benes was a member of Czechoslovakia’s parliament for 20 years but resigned in February of 1948 because of Communist in-

filtration. He came to America to live with his son-in-law and daughter, the Anton Viceks of

nearby Mishawaka. Before that visit, Mr. Benes had lived in the United States on six different occasions for a total of 13 years.

Mr. Zeis said other claims were made by Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Moreland, Angola, amateur detectives who said they linked Click to the murders through a laundry ticket; Naomi Phillips, who said she had visions of the murders, and Ferdinand Nicodemus, a friend of the Conine family who brought Lobaugh’'s name into the hearing.

The Morelands said they gave police the results of their investigation but were told to drop the case, Mr. Zeis said.
