Small Home, Big Family?
By DEAN H. ROBINSON
The little home for this week should be the answer to the many families who are looking for a small design for a big family. Although only 33'x35’ there are three bedrooms dwown and room up for two large ones or three’ more small ones with bath. Although the three downstairs bedrooms are only 10'x12' they all have large wardrobe type closets with sliding doors that accom-

necessary. The living and dining rooms are combined to save space and costs, and the kitchen is narrow and very compact. There is no natural fireplace again for economy Treasons. The service entrance opens directly on the cellar stairs which makes it easy to carry heavy bundles from this area. The basement is under the entire home and provides room for laundry, heating and recreation as well as storage.

Private Builders Can Meet Need, | Mohr Reports
The building industry can supply defense and military housing, G. William Mohr, secretary of the Marion County Residential Builders, Inc., said yesterday. Mr. Mohr said military and defense housing must be built by private enterprise, and predicted that one out of every four houses started in 1952 would be either for military or defense housing. The home builders have organized for the project, he said. “A committee of 50 from the critical defense areas has been appointed to expedite the construction.” He pointed to the San Diego area where the government had blueprinted 6000 houses for defense workers; but private builders got the jump on the program and started literally hundreds of new houses, ahead of the program.
