The district has already collected over a thousand dollars for the girls greenhouse and it's going to take a lot more money. Mrs. Burke Nicholas is district chairman.

Latin’'s a live and kicking language as far as gardeners go, the district learned. A gardener can go to BorigoBooligah and ask for centaurea cyanis and he'll get it—supposing of course that it grows in that mythical paradise. But if he asks for it under its English name—bachelor's button—well, no telling what he'd come home with. n = ~ AFRICAN VIOLET fans have a friend in Dorothy Adams of the Art and Music (and gardening) section of city library. Scheffler, 1035 Chuirchman Ave. (as many times before), for answer to an abstruse garden query. This time it's the picture of the lily-leaved, daisy-flowered plant in the recent Sunday's garden page. Mrs. Paul Masteller, 1332 W. 34th St.; raised it. The original plant came from an old-fashioned garden many Years ago. Local experts had not been able to identify it. Here's what Mrs. Scheffler writes: “It is in my opinion a wild tiger-lily as it grew long before cultivation. Or it could also be a very early strain of lilum henryi. It is surely a mixture of either one of the two. “Some lilies go clear back to their former origin. I've seen it many times occur here and have seen them growing that way in forests in Germany. “I climbed many mountains in Germany with botany classes. I have not forgotten lots I saw as a child on such school trips.”

Bagworms are so tougi that the lead arsenate spray that's supposed to finish them off, sometimes doesn’t even bother nearadult specimens. So ever since the war, scientists have been shooting at bagworms with various World War II poisons. But only a few really phase him. Best known of these are parathion and toxaphene. JNDIANA homes will be all dressed up when St. Nick comes this year. Those expert mixers of flowers and greenery, the state's accredited Flower Show Judges Association, are putting on their first Christmas flower show, You may see it either Friday, Nov. 30th, or Saturday, Dec. 1st. They're bringing a wellknown speaker here to give tips on "Christmas fixings. She'll show exactly how they're done. She’ll also pin the blue and red ribbons on exhibits. The public—at least 300 of the public each day—can see fand hear) her demonstration lecture in. Block's Auditorium at 1:30 p.m. each day of the show. Her subject, the theme of the show, is “Christmas All Through the House.”
