Check Theft Ring Fiqure Faces Trial The last of a five-member check-stealing ring smashed last year today faced federal prosecution following release from the Indiana State Reformatory. court. Since the ring was smashed, check-stealing in Indianapolis has dropped nearly 50 per cent, Mr. Loy said. He added ring members were unable to estimate the total dollar worth of stolen checks. ?
