“THE ONE-TWO teams in the Fast Side Chevrolet Classic League have contrasting ambi-
tions tonight, Yet the" aspirations
of these rivals are slanted with the same purpose-—first place. » Anderson's Lumbermen will lay its four-point lead on the line at the PritchettHunt and O'Grady alleys against Century Cleaners, T he latter owns the runner-up spot with 26 points but are nearly even money to halt .the march of the Lumbermen. If we may dust off the wellworn adage, tonight's rematch between the pacesetters is a “grudge duel.” In the first meeting on Sept. 11, Anderson thumped Century Cleaners, 2-1, and. picked up an additional point for high team series. The Lumbermen’s victory came on a 2770 total while Century Cleaner posted a 2581 mark. = ” a THE CENTURY five is aptly named for tonight's skirmish they are bent on taking the Lumbermen to the cleaners. The leaders are in an .excellent position to post a one-sided advantage in the East Side circuit by sweey three games from Century and picking up an addit point for. top series On the other hand, Century can 1d by doing the very Anderson's Lumber five Anderson holds a 940 team av érage while Century shows a 916 team mark son's starting five kegling talent as 197; Francis

Branam, 193, Johnny Schorn, 174,
and Frank Branam, 165. John Brariam recently rolled high league single with a 276 score. While the top two settle their differences, another important scrap will be waged between
National Trailer Sales and Sportsmen's Store. National Trailer Sales have been making up lost ground at
an impressive clip in recent weeks. The 1950 league champs defeated Sportsmen's five on a 2-1 decision in September. Both teams are still a strong contender but the loser tonight will be in dire circumstances for the future, National Trailer Sales rests in third place with 24 points while Sportsmen's holds fourth on 23 markers. The Trailer Sales have the high team series to date on 3080 and the league singleton on 1078, In the
first. meeting Trailer
Sales posted a 2732 score while Sportsmen's mark was 2609, Ed Stevenson, the league leader with 200 average in 27 games. is the hest threat for National Trailer while Maurie Wellman of Sportsmen's Store is not far behind with 196 I.. C. Cassidy, in fifth place
less records are deceiving. The leaders of the West Side Classic League do battle with ‘Roselyn| Bakers. The underdog has won| only 10 games in 30 starts and is
currently trying’'to graduate from| the cellar of: the 16-tqam circuit. |
Tompkins are leading the league by four games and every rival in the loop will be keeping its fingers crossed for an unexpected upset. A three-game sweep tonight by the Ice Cream Men will make things ‘mighty tough for the rest of the field. Foxworthy Ford and Mutual Milk are tied for second place on 19-11 marks and both are favortes to advance successfully this evening. Foxworthy battles 12th place Freyn Brothers, who have won 13, lost 17, and Mutual Milk matches talents with Advance Electrotype, stranded in eighth place on a 14-16 record. Foxworthy Ford won the championship last year but it is going to take some real doing to halt Tompkins Ice Cream's march to another title. Tompkins has won

Valparaiso's Joe Pahr remained 18 points ahead of his closest
rival in the 1951 Indiana college
individual scoring race .today after going scoreless for the first time this fall. | Pahr failed to score against Wheaton, -Ill., last Saturday, but the Crusaders carried off a 20-to-6 victory— their eighth this
