Lecturer Urges Women To Teach Leadership

JOAN SCHOEMAKER American women were challenged to encourage world leadership at today's fourth Town Hall series in the Murat Temple. “Leadership can be acquired and the training lies in the hands of the women of this country,” said Mrs. Helen Hamilton Woods, Washington lecturer, discussing American tradition in the making. Two suggestions were given by Mrs. Woods to the young mothers in the audience. Glamorize a job— make responsibility important and reward yourichildren with praise when teaching them leadership in the home. » . Opens Vice Drive BILOXI, Miss., Nov. 9 (UP)— A group of citizens formed a county crime committee last night and declared they would rid the Mississippi Gold Coast of vice. Simultaneously, proprietors of bars and night clubs in the resort area held a meeting to discuss the crackdown on‘ illicit gambling and liquor sales which resulted from the investigation. The developments followed a Senate investigation of vice conditions in the area because of the proximity of mammoth Keesler Air Force Base. The Senate investigation three weeks ago resulted in a halt in slot machine operations which were said to be raking in about one-fourth of the annual payroll of nearby Keesler Air Force Base. Sheriff Laz Quave ordered all liquor sales halted Wednesday .
