* Did your club help set the October record of 5115 life-
giving pints of blood at Red Cross Blood Center? It shows here if it did. If not, get busy. Your group can work to meet the November goal of 6000 pints by the drive Thanksgiving deadline. Make it a 100 per cent goal this month. Pledge your club 100 per cent to aid. Clubs are listed in battalions by name in order of their standing with the number of active members, number of donors and pledges checked through the Center by Thursday night and percentages of membership either pledged to give or donated, Percentage is the total since the drive opening Oct. 3. Don't Accept False Rumors
Some people use as a reason for not giving blood rumors that the biood is =old. Anyone who tells this story as-truth is guilty of treason. It is untrue. Blood is not sold by Red Cross to the Army. It is not sold by the Army to our wounded. Stalin takes pleasure in the spreading of this rumor. You are doing him a favor if you spread the report and you are doing the Communist cause a favor if you fail to give blood because of it. The top investigation agencles of the country have been unable to trace a single story of blood being sold. If you hear the report—if someone tells you of a case-— have them call The Times immediately. Ask them to call right then and give the facts they have. If you are refusing to donate ‘because you have heard one of
these rumors you are falling victim to a Communist trap.

AN EDITORIAL OMEN have been called on to do a job. You may be the judge of how well this job is being done. You may be your own judge. Pledges to give blood this month and next are desperately needed now. The Army must know how much blood they will have in reserve just as they must know how many A-bombs, artillery shells or beans they have. Blood is ammunition when we fight a war—because we save
the wounded.
More than 5000 people in Central Indiana gave blood
last month.
This is good, but not enough. Pledges for 6000 to give this month and 6000 again next month are needed. How is your group doing. Still have a zero? Then let's get going. A soldier can’t kill a Communist with
zero bullets. zero blood.
And our doctors can't save a life with
Are you afraid to give blood. The bravest soldier in Korea knows the keenest
fears, but carries on for you.
Are you leaving the blood giving job up to gome-
one else.
The fellows in Korea would rather have. someone
else do it, too.
People said women couldn't do this job. But women are doing it—at least some women are. The pages of American history are filled with ex-
ploits of our women.
Can you be equal to the women of history? You and your women's club can make the answer
plain this week.
Call the Red Cross Blood Center, Llncoln 1441, and pledge to give a pint of your blood to save an American boy. Call tomorrow and you will meet the test.
