Ann Blyth's Blushes Spoil Yards of Film

| HOLLYWOOD, Nov. 3 (UP)— It's enough to make a lady blush. That's what Ann Blyth did when she learded her blushes, in (technicolor, were "slowing down production on a $2 million movie,

Ann usually plays those “nice-little-girl-next-door” roles in that kind of part her reputation as a chronic blusher is no handicap at all. Miss Blyth's face is reputed to flush, en the slightest provocation, on an average of 25 to 30 times a day. Often, it happens in the middle of a movie scene but the majority of the pert actress’ movies have been in black and white and the/ blushes haven't made any difference. The other day, though, she began blushing ‘in technicolor, She plays Gregory Peck's leadipg lady in °‘Universal-Interna-tional's swashbuckling “The World in His Arms.” As a scheming. woman relying on her maid-

* lenly charms to get Peck into line,

she goes through one high-voltage love scene after another with the handsome leading man. With virtually every embrace, her face turns the color of a highly-polished fire engine. It is hardly in character, The director, Raoul Walsh, figured roughly that the actress slows the picture an average of eight minutes a day for fe-takes whenever she “blows a blush.” « I've got feet of Ann's blushes on the projection room floor so far,” Walsh SAVS
