Here's Tip Pp On Choice
Of Trees
Which kind of tree shall we choose” Thal's the question - asked by many home owners interested in The Times treeplanting project. Here are some pointers to help you. The Norway maple is popular for its fast growth, about four feet a year. Even in its younger days it produces a shapely round top of rich green leaves that make thick shade. It grows well under difficult city conditions. In the autumn it often changes to so rich a gold that it lights up an entire neighborhood. The sugar (or rock) maple is an altogether superior tree. It grows into a sturdy tough specimen that stands up well in storms. It is long-lived. In the autumn its color ranges from brilliant gold to crimson. The sycamore is loved by every true Hoosier for its white } gleaming bark, mottled with’ ; patches of cream—for its at- | ¥
